Today's Liberal Special
How fitting that the McGuinty the Mannequin has recruited former children's television actress Nerene Virgin to run for him. She has been named Ontario Liberal candidate for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek, bypassing the normal nomination process.
I would probably vote for her as a childhood hero of mine, but how does that really compare to the “star candidates” that the Tories and NDP have been able to recruit.
Virgin, once the star of TVOntario's Today's Special and later a television news anchor, left the CBC in 2005 and spent last year teaching French to elementary students in Stoney Creek.
Finance Minister Greg Sorbara, chair of the Ontario Liberal campaign, indicated last week that the party might decide to use one of the five nomination appointments allowed by its constitution in Mossop's riding.
Wait... The liberals appoint their candidates now???
